DEWA announces 300 new jobs at Careers UAE 2015

160 government departments, private organisations participate in Careers UAE

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced 300 new jobs during its participation in Careers UAE 2015, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Over 160 government departments and private organisations are participating in Careers UAE, one of the largest recruitment, education, and training events for UAE citizens.

DEWA is participating to recruit qualified Emiratis who are looking for jobs in the government sector. Careers UAE's theme this year is ‘Empowering Nationals,’ and DEWA has allocated 300 jobs in 2015 for Emiratis.

"To achieve the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote Emiratisation in government departments and organisations, and to reflect the goals and objectives of the UAE National Agenda to develop the skills of Emiratis, DEWA's strategy is to encourage and stimulate Emiratisation policies. As part of our Emiratisation programme, we have allocated many administrative and technical jobs for new graduates. DEWA has achieved excellent results in Emiratising the workforce with 82.80% of UAE nationals in senior management, 44.48 per cent in middle management, and 33.07 per cent in non-supervisory positions," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

"Led by our Emiratisation policy, DEWA participates in annual career fairs and recruitment exhibitions to identify competent Emiratis who want to join government departments and organisations. Careers UAE is the ideal venue for the public and private sectors to meet with UAE Nationals who are seeking job opportunities with them. This contributes to raising the pace of Emiratisation. DEWA provides the opportunity for graduates to apply for work at DEWA, which offers attractive packages, training, and other benefits that Emirati graduates are looking for, to build professional and successful careers," he added.

"DEWA has also launched several educational programmes for Emirati students who wish to continue their studies in the UAE and abroad in mechanical and electrical engineering, and renewable energy," said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources in DEWA.

DEWA has updated its job application portal on its website to enable applicants to upload their CVs quickly and easily.
