To avail of the offer, Etisalat said its customers need to send an SMS 'Nepal' to 1012 and they will instantly be credited with 5 free International minutes to call any number in Nepal.
“We are deeply saddened by the colossal loss to human lives and property caused by the severe earthquake in Nepal.
"As a small gesture during this hour of crisis, we have decided to offer all our prepaid customers 5 minutes of calls to Nepal for free, thus enabling our Nepali customers across UAE to get in touch with their families and friends,” said Khaled Elkhouly, Chief Marketing Officer Etisalat.
Earlier, UAE operator Du said it was giving its Nepalese customers three (3) free minutes to call home and get in touch with their families, following the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal on April 25.
“Simply dial any number in Nepal before midnight tomorrow, April 27, and the first three minutes of talk time will be free of charge,” Du said in its statement.
“Our customer is at the core of everything we do, and by offering them some additional call time, free of charge, we hope that it will make connecting with their loved ones less stressful in their time of need,” said Ahmed Mokhles, Executive Vice-President, Consumer Business, du. “We send our heartfelt sympathies to all the people in Nepal and the region affected by this tragedy.”

SMS 'Nepal' to 1012 for Etisalat
Etisalat today announced that they are offering the Nepali community in UAE five (5) free outgoing international minutes to call their family and loved ones in Nepal, as a goodwill gesture due to the huge loss caused by the earthquake .
To avail of the offer, Etisalat said its customers need to send an SMS 'Nepal' to 1012 and they will instantly be credited with 5 free International minutes to call any number in Nepal.
